Education:  A.B. Stanford University (1967); J.D. Harvard University (1970). Admitted to California Bar in 1971.

Work:  Attorney for Center of the Study of Responsive Law in Washington, D.C. (1968-73), and was one of the original “Nader’s Raiders”.  Deputy DA, County of San Diego (73-81), and assistant U.S. Attorney for DOJ (San Diego).  In private practice 81-83. Joined faculty of University of San Diego School of Law in 1977.  In 1980 founded USD’s Center for Public Interest Law, and in 1989 founded the Children’s Advocacy Institute.

Bar/other: member of SDCBA since 1972.  Author, 14 books including “California White Collar Crime” and “Child Rights and Remedies.”  Former California State Bar discipline monitor and chairs the board of the Public Citizen Foundation in Washington, D.C.  Chairs Maternal and Child Health Access Foundation, and is counsel to the Board of Voices for America’s Children.
