The Impact of Advocating for Others:

Competency, Compassion Fatigue, and Lawyer Well-Being

Presented by:
The SDCBA Wellness Subcommittee and Co-sponsored by the Elder Law, Family Law, and Juvenile Law Sections of the San Diego County Bar Association

The high stress and high conflict nature of the legal profession puts lawyers at increased risk for compassion fatigue, which can manifest as exhaustion, feeling overwhelmed, and burnout, all of which significantly impact a lawyer's competency, impair cognitive functioning and diminish one's overall ability to effectively advocate for their clients. Join Bethany Warren, LCSW, PMH-C, for an informative and timely CLE on how to identify the signs of compassion fatigue and learn what you can do to ensure you are functioning at your best and prioritizing your well-being.
