Join us for the first part in the Legal Ethics Series. Effective August 1, 2023 attorneys must comply with the new reporting obligations under rule 8.3 of the California Rules of Professional Conduct, which requires a lawyer who knows of credible evidence that another layer has engaged in certain conduct to report that lawyer. Join our esteemed panelists who will provide a theoretical exploration and practical case studies to navigate:
• How to identify situations that create reporting obligations;
• How to report and when a report should be made;
• When a lawyer may or may not be required to report;
• When a lawyer may be prohibited from reporting; and
• Other relevant rules and authorities that are critical to complying with the reporting obligations of Rule 8.3.
