Summary

Presented by:
The Estate, Trust, & Probate Section and The Elder Law Section of the San Diego County Bar Association

Financial Elder Abuse has been called the “Crime of the 21st Century.” However, both law enforcement and the public at large often misunderstand this serious crime. This leads to cases being ignored or the prosecution of them abandoned, leaving victims unprotected. Please join Paul Greenwood, former head of the Elder Abuse Prosecution Unit at the San Diego District Attorney’s Office, as he sheds light on the common misconceptions of this all-to-common crime and how to best push back against those misconceptions to ensure our aging community is given the respect and protection they deserve. The insights Mr. Greenwood has distilled in his over 20 years as a District Attorney prosecuting these cases are invaluable to criminal and civil litigators alike.
